This One's For You, Amber

My sister told me that she likes to see pictures, so these are from my adventures this past weekend. They are: my roommate's swim meet, pictures for class at Utah Lake, and the football game against Colorado State. This is for you Amber!

The Shower Incident

Do you ever have sequences of five or ten minutes of your life where you feel like you're in a comedic movie and someone just forgot to tell you? Because I always seem to be waiting for a laugh track to kick in for my life.

Take tonight for example. Now, to preface the string of funny occurrences you should know what I had been doing right before this happened. Since we don't exactly drink or do other typical college activities like that at BYU we often have to come up with other more creative things to do to entertain ourselves. The activity tonight consisted of vast amounts of soapy foam dyed blue, slip n' slides and flag football. We call this "True Blue Football" and it is great. This activity is a great candidate for a comedy just in and of itself.

I came home dyed blue and decided that I really needed a shower in order to return me and my belongings to their natural color. Start movie scene. I step into the shower fully clothed and begin rinsing. I'm just minding my own business, rinsing my socks, when I notice that the deep blue water is actually up past my ankles. I start playing with the drain area with my toe and all the sudden the drain thingy shoots out attached to a long strand of nasty nasty hair. This is something I was not a fan of, and so I awkwardly tried to remove it with toilet paper, which instantly turned blue and dissolved. It was only moments later, when I decided that I am done with the rinsing that the shower rod decided to fall on me. I'm realizing that this might not seem as funny when I write it, but try to picture it visually because this is a movie I'm starring in. So picture me, fully clothed and completely drenched, standing in a bathtub full of blue water, with a nasty chunk of hair attached to the drain and a shower rod falling on top of me. Now you can catch the vision. Sadly, when this happened none of my roommates were home to laugh with me, so now it's here on my blog instead.

On the topic of life being like a movie, wouldn't it be great if there was a soundtrack for our life that went along with everything we do and matched our moods? I think about this frequently and I'm pretty sure it would be the best thing ever. Everything we did would be so much more epic.

The bathroom scene shortly after tonight's excitement. Sadly, nothing stayed blue. Except my armpits that is. What's up with that?

Update: I'm starting to think that the bathroom may just be cursed. I just went back to put up the shower rod and ended up knocking off the towel rack and walking out with wet toilet paper stuck to my foot.

Tuesday Love

It's at this point of having a blog (one week in) that I am realizing why I haven't had one since I've been back from London. Nothing happens in my life here that is worthy of being in my blog. So, in order to put something new on here I will talk about how much I love Tuesdays.

Now, Tuesdays aren't usually a favorite for most people, but for me they are beautiful. It all began when I looked at my schedule for this semester and discovered that there was a glorious hole in my schedule. Absolutely no classes on Tuesdays. It's like an oasis in the middle of my week. I mean, Fridays and Saturdays are always supposed to be great but this Tuesday thing is an added bonus in my life. I still have work, but work is a lot of fun so that doesn't really even count as something I have to do. As an example of how awesome they are I will tell you about today.

Last night since I knew I wouldn't have anything going on in the morning I got to go to a 10:15 showing of Star Trek with some of my friends from London. It was only 50 cents. I like that. I also like watching Chris Pine. Then, after coming home late I slept in until a beautiful 10:30, at which point I got up and watched the weekly forum while eating breakfast/lunch and then moseyed over to work. After work it got even better when I went with Christy to Costco to pick up the third season of 30 Rock that came out today and got a smoothie and pizza (I know you want all of these details) to eat while watching a couple of episodes back at her apartment. To top it all off, shortly after I got home I got a call from my great friend Megan, who also went to London with me and graduated in April, saying that she was in town and wanted to hang out. So we did that and it was oh so good. The only problem with today is that I never really got around to doing the homework for tomorrow, but I can always do that later...

Moral of the story: I love Tuesdays.

I may have underestimated how dark it is in movie theaters. This is post photoshop.

30 Rock happiness.

Megan! I love her.

Look Up

A quick note: please admire the beauty of my title image, because it took me forever to make.

Thank you, and that is the end.

Pretending I'm Not In Provo

So, one of my super sweet classes for this semester is Comms 428, which is Photo Journalism. I am fairly sure I'm going to fail (there are actual photography majors in there! They are very scary), but I'm having a lot of fun anyways. Also, it provides a nice excuse to get out and do things I wouldn't usually have time to do. I now can justify doing all sorts of awesome things as long as a bring my camera because it is "homework."

This weekend I went to the India Festival at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork with my ever loyal friend Annie. Below are the photos. It's only our second assignment, so hopefully in the future they will look even more awesome. I had a lot of fun bonding with my camera and new lens though! Oh, and the last one is one of my friend who is in my class. I think I saw everyone from our class there and thought it would be fun to take stalker pictures of all of them and turn them in for my assignment, but then I decided against it.

Also, as a note I sized down the pictures majorly because I'm assuming none of you are planning on printing posters from my blog, and I don't really want to spend 20 hours trying to upload them.
