The Glorious 23rd Day

IMG_0909

The 23rd day of the month has always been my favorite, and these next few months are going to provide some especially great ones.

Here’s the rundown:

  • February 23 = My mom’s birthday.
  • March 23 = My birthday (21).
  • April 23 = The day I leave for Washington D.C. (at 11 a.m., arrive their at 4:30).
  • May, June and July 23 = Existing in D.C.

So enjoy tomorrow and appreciate it for the wonderful day that it is! Something cool is bound to happen.

Yes Please

Last night I bought a one-way ticket to DC that leaves exactly two months from next tuesday (don't worry, I'll buy a return ticket. Eventually). I've officially accepted an internship with Where Washington, which is a sort of travel magazine where I'll be able to do all sorts of fun things all summer. I went to Vegas for the first time for the three day weekend and was able to relax and forget about school related things for almost four glorious days.

Life is pretty nice.

Decisions

I hate to make them. A couple of weekends ago I went to the Sweet Tooth Fairy and couldn’t decide which flavor of cupcake I wanted to buy, so I bought four. Then it took me another ten minutes to decide which one to eat first.

I feel like college is just a time full of needing to make decisions, and I’m in the middle of making a bunch of them right now. I’m not exactly a fan of it. I think part of the problem is that I don’t know what I want. But I’ll figure it out eventually.

In the meantime, I do know that I am still in love with this song: When I Go, by Slow Club.

Finally

Last semester for my photojournalism class we had to do an audio slideshow, so I did mine on the Provo Farmer’s Market because I am naturally attracted to such things. The one here has nothing on the one in Portland, but it’s still fun. Anyways, since the school didn’t have the right plug-in to turn the slideshow into a file I could use it was stuck in the computer lab until last night. For the longest time the only way I could show it to anyone was to drag them into the Brimhall building, but now it has been liberated from the third computer on the right and is here on my blog for all to see. I know you’re excited.

And thanks again to the lovely Katie Andrus, who let me interview her for this. It was in October so she probably forgot it ever happened. But she’s cool so you should check out her blog.

Here’s the video. It’s only a minute thirty, so you totally have time to watch it.

Or there's a better one on vimeo. It just doesn't want to cooperate and fit on my blog.
